The major work will consist of the (approximate) following traffic signal improvements, pavement marking and signing, concrete sidewalk, and curb ramps. The purpose of this invitation to bidders is to set unit prices and the City's contract budget may be less than the bid amounts, therefore, the City is not obligated to award a contract for the full bid amount. Certain improvements included in this project must be performed by a contractor or designated subcontractor who is pre-qualified by the City at the time of bid opening. The procedures for qualification and pre-qualification are outlined in the Section 3 of 00 21 13 - INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. This is a unit price contract. Bids are solicited so as to ascertain prices for the Work items. The contract amount will be capped by available funds and may not reflect the bidder's total bid amount. City may award contracts to more than one bidder, lowest to highest, but is not required to award to all, or any bidders. Work will be assigned on an as-needed basis. There is no guarantee of work being assigned. All inquiries relative to this proposal should be submitted in writing to the contact person listed below before 2:00 PM (CT) on the Monday prior to the bid opening.
