Renovation of a municipal facility in Bladensburg, Maryland. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Built from 1919-1925, this 40-foot cross was constructed of cast concrete. It is located in the three-way junction of Bladensburg Road, Baltimore Avenue, and Annapolis Road in Bladensburg. The Peace Cross is significant as a prominent public monument to County residents who lost their lives during World War I. In addition, the design is the work of master craftsman John J. Earley. This project includes monument cleaning, drainage improvements, and landscaping upgrades This project is included in the county's FY 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Program. As of April 6, 2023, further details regarding design and construction timelines have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
