The southernmost city limits stretch south along Humboldt Bay to the Humboldt Hill Road overcrossing. The City-owned parcels between Pound Road and Humboldt Hill Road straddle the Elk River. This project will open the leveed river to 114 acres of restored and enhanced estuary and marsh. Along with the enhancement, a class 1 trail will be extended south from the existing Hiksari Trial to Humboldt Hill Road. This Project is included in the City of Eureka's FY 2022-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of June 27, 2022, this project has gone out for bid and has been awarded. Information regarding a design team and a general contractor is not available. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
