The Westview Fire Station, #31 originally built in 2001, has outgrown its intended purposes. Additional staffing and services have been added over the years causing the current facilities to be out-grown based on its current configuration. This CIP Request is to hire a design team to take the current footprint of the building (living area 5,000 sf) and reconfigure the layout to be more efficient based on staffing needs. This would include removal of all existing interior walls and redesign the current living area of the fire station to include kitchen, bunkrooms, office space, bathroom/locker rooms, dayroom, storage, etc. Because of land constraints, the footprint of the building cannot be increased. Also included in this project is expense related to continuity of operations, as the services this fire station provides will need to continue on a 24/7 basis. Temporary facilities will need to be included during the construction phase. This project included in the county's fy 2025-2030 Capital Improvement Program.
