A brief summary of the work involved in this Contract is for the supply and installation of various Asphalt pedestrian and cycling facilities including Multi-Use Paths (MUPs) , Asphalt cycle track ramps and associated illumination / street lightning where indicated as per the description below: A) Shamrock Park MUP: Construct a bicycle path through Shamrock Park beside an existing sidewalk. It will provide a cycling connection along Ferguson Ave where cyclists currently are required to dismount at the southern terminus of the existing Ferguson Ave bicycle lanes in order to pass through the park. Ferguson Ave continues for cyclists at both ends of this park. The scope includes 3m asphalt bicycle path through Shamrock Park adjacent to existing pedestrian sidewalk, two curb cuts on Ferguson Ave @ Grange and one curb cut on Ferguson at the south end of the project. The bicycle path avoids existing obstacles through the park and will include signage at tunnel entrances "Yield to pedestrians". One tree will need to be removed to ensure the longevity of the path. Minimum setback from other trees (8 total) is 1.5m. - 400 square metres of New Multi-Use Path - 9 Bicycle Stencils Pavement Marking - 1 Left Turn Symbol Pavement Marking - 125m of 1-1 Skip Pavement Making - 6m of Curb Cuts - 6m of Chain Link Fence Removal - 1 Tree Removal B) York Road Multi-Use Path (York Rd. to Watsons Lane): Install a Multi-use path on York Rd between Olympic Dr & Watson's Lane along west of York Road. This will provide wider separation from motorized traffic and provide a low-stress, safe and enjoyable experience for all user including pedestrians, skaters, wheelchair users, joggers, and bicyclists. There will be minimum impact on drainage and other utility infrastructures. - 520 square meters of New MUP - 12 Bicycle Stencils Pavement Marking - 195m of 1-1 Skip Pavement Making - 55m of Curb/ Gutter Removal - 44m of New Curb / Gutter (OPSD 600.040) - 145 square meters of 1.5m Concrete Sidewalk - Clearing & Grubbing, 5 tree removals - Construction of Street Lighting and associated works: - 6 decorative lighting poles - 235 metres of conduit installation - 235 metres of cable installations (in duct and aerial) C) Victoria Avenue North (Cycle Track Ramps): Installing 6 asphalt ramps at two existing bus stops and one wheelchair loading zone on two-way cycle track along the east curb of Victoria Ave between Cannon/Stinson to raised floating modular bus stops.
