Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Topeka, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

Provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to wedge mill parking lot perimeter, apply a 1 1/2 " HMAC overlay and paint strip parking lot spaces. COLD MILLING EQUIPMENT: Contractor shall provide a self-propelled machine capable of wedge milling asphalt parking lot perimeter 1 1/2 " deep measured at the toe of the existing concrete curb to a depth of 0" a distance of 15' from the toe of the concrete curb. PAVING OPERATIONS: Contractor shall place 1 1/2 " deep Hot-Mix Asphaltic Concrete Overlay (BM-2A w/PG70-28) over the existing parking lot wearing surface. Hot-Mix Asphaltic Concrete shall be spread and finished using a Paver meeting the requirements specified in Subsection 155.5 of the KDOT Standard Road and Bridge Specifications, latest edition and addendum. The Paver shall be operated at a speed which shall provide a uniform rate of placement without undue interruption. At all times, keep the paver hopper sufficiently full to prevent non-uniform flow of the HMA to the augers and screed. Asphalt for Tack Coats: Prior to placing any HMA, Contractor shall spray on the pavement surface receiving HMA a uniform coat of Emulsion Asphalt SS-1HP meeting the requirements as specified in Section 1203 Kansas Department of Transportation, Standard Specifications, latest edition and addendum. Application rate shall be 0.03 to 0.06 gallons per square yard. The Work will commence with an issuance of a Start Work Order by the Owner. The Contractor shall have fifteen (15) calendar day from the date Start Work Order is issued by the Owner to have the project certified as being Substantially Complete and Ready for Final Payment and Acceptance. For project to be certified Substantially Complete all work must be complete including pavement markings and the parking lot reopened to unrestricted traffic. Each bid must show in the space provided the complete business or mailing address of the bidder and must be signed by him/her with his/her usual signature. Shawnee County reserve the right to accept or reject any part of, or all of, any bid or proposal.
