A bid guarantee in the form of a cashier's or certified check drawn to the City of Bayonne for the sum of FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00) or a bid bond for a like sum executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey binding the bidder to enter into the contract if awarded to him or them must accompany each proposal. No Consent of Surety required for this bid. If the contractor fails to perform as required by these specifications and contract, the City of Bayonne shall have the right to procure the services of another contractor to provide said services and the original contractor shall be responsible for any and all costs, fees and charges in excess of the amounts set forth in the contract. The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to increase or decrease the quantities of materials. Bidders may not withdraw their respective bids for a period of sixty (60) days of receipt of bids as provided in Chapter 53 of the Public Laws of 1977.
