Site work for a civil project in New Westminster, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The project is located in the Glenbrook Ravine Park at its Northern end and South of Glenbrook Drive in New Westminster, as shown on the drawings. To complete the installation of the CSO gate, a by-pass system is required to divert live sewer flows around the chamber to allow for the removal of the existing gate and installation of the new Fontaine / Aquanox stainless steel sluice gate. A gravity sewer by-pass system has been designed for this project to safely divert the live flows during the CSO gate replacement and will remain in place after construction for future use. This system requires the construction of two (2) overbuild manholes on the existing sewers downstream of the existing CSO chamber, a gravity sewer bypass pipe, and a knife gate valve with all appurtenances. Excavation, tree removal, clearing and grubbing, and preparation of the construction site. Temporary access improvements for the construction site. Supply and installation (total package) of all materials for and related to the construction of the Project. Protection of the existing sewers and utilities during construction works. Protection of trees during construction works. Protection in place or relocation of electrical conduits. Environmental monitoring, ESC measures, and protection of watercourses. Construction of a gravity sewer bypassing system, and all associated work. Removal and reinstatement of existing drain culverts as indicated in the drawings. Monitoring of sanitary flow levels inside the CSO chamber during construction. Design and installation of a shotcrete shoring wall for the slope protection of temporary excavation. Temporary site grading, foundation excavation, excavation for slope protection, installation of two (2) overbuilt manholes, a diversion pipe, and a knife gate valve. Dewatering of the excavation during construction. Installation of inflatable bladders to isolate the existing gate Removal and replacement of the existing CSO gate with the new gate purchased by MV. Preassembling and confirmation of constructability of the new gate. Structural modifications to the existing CSO chamber. Works include cutting and removing the existing concrete slabs, installation of grates and ladder rungs, etc. Obtaining required approvals, including but not limited to, from the City of New Westminster, Work Safe BC, Environmental Regulatory Bodies, etc. Testing, commissioning and automation of the new gate and connecting the system with the Corporation’s control centre by SCADA. Site restorations, including but not limited to repairing and restoring existing trails/access routes, and restoration of ground, ditches, vegetation, and landscaping.
