As of August 2, 2022 this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on August 9, 2022. An unnamed tributary to Indian Creek, which is itself a tributary to Hokendauqua Creek, is located primarily in Lehigh Township, Northampton County. In 2018, the Township met with Wildlands Conservancy to discuss potential solutions to improve conditions at Indian Trail Park. Since then, Wildlands has agreed to partner with the Township as the project manager. The Township completed a first phase of the project in 2021 to restore degraded streambanks through Indian Trail Park (Appendix C). The streambanks have since been graded and stabilized, and instream structures installed. A collapsed culvert over Cinchona Road, which bisects the stream restoration project area, was removed as part of the first phase. The Township has since selected a culvert to replace the failed structure on Cinchona Road. This Invitation to Bid is for the installation of the new abutments and culvert, and any associated stabilization. Hanover Engineering completed the project designs, included as Appendix E, which lay out specific instructions for construction. Wildlands and Hanover will partner in conducting oversight of the selected contractor during the construction period. The Township will make regular visits to the site as well. In addition to the design plans, the selected contractor will be required to follow all regulations listed in the General Permit to be issued by PA DEP, as well as the requirements listed in the grant agreements (Appendix D). The contractor hired through this bid process will procure the necessary materials and complete the culvert installation once a contract is signed with the Township. The culvert and abutments will be delivered to the site from Contech, who will coordinate with the selected contractor. Questions or comments may be submitted only via electronically .
