The City seeks a range of construction services to renovate the approximately 10,150 square foot asphalt Benjamin G. Brown Schoolyard, including a small synthetic turf field, and to install approximately 140 of new sewer line on Josephine Street adjacent to the school. The schoolyard is located at 201 Willow Avenue in Somerville in a densely populated residential neighborhood so the contractor will need to proceed with an abundance of caution. The scope of work includes but is not limited to removal of existing bituminous concrete, grading, installation of a small Synthetic Turf field with concrete curbing and drainage system, a low concrete retaining wall, new bituminous concrete paving with color sealcoat graphics, raised planting beds, basketball goals, stormwater drainage infrastructure, new drain connection to the sewer system at Josephine Street, new separated sewer pipe along Josephine Street to Kidder Avenue.
