Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
As of Sept 29 the project was awarded to SEMA Construction Inc for $36,808,875.45. The Circle Drive Bridges Replacement project will replace the existing twin bridges (4 bridges total) on Circle Drive east of I-25. The western pair of bridges (Creek Bridges) cross Fountain Creek and the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail. The Eastern pair of bridges (RR Bridges) cross Las Vegas Street, UPRR/BNSF Railroad, a Fountain Mutual Irrigation Company conveyance facility and Hancock Expressway. Secondary elements of this project will include MSE-walls (some with two phased wall combining soil nails), connector trail from Circle down to the Pike Peak Greenway Trail, improvements to Hancock Expressway, and all associated work needed for the construction.
