Concrete Maintenance Sealed bids will be accepted by Los Angeles County Public Works, Project Management Division III, for the reconstruction of curb and gutter, sidewalk, driveways, alley intersections, and cross gutters, and the performance of other incidental and appurtenant work under Project ID No. RMDJOC6728, Parkway Concrete Maintenance, Maintenance District No. 2 in various unincorporated communities of Los Angeles County, Maintenance District No. 2. The work shall be done in accordance with the Contract Documents on file and open for inspection at Public Works. The contract price will be $750,000 and shall be for one year or until $750,000 of work orders have been completed, whichever occurs first. The prime contractor shall possess a valid California Class A or C-8 contractor's license. Prebid questions regarding the Plans and Specifications shall be submitted via email only to: Ms. Irma Vargas at IrVargas@pw.lacounty.gov. Prebid questions will not be accepted after 5 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022. The successful bidder must comply with Chapter 2.212 (COVID-19 Vaccinations of County Contactor Personnel) of County Code Title 2 - Administration, Division 4 as a condition of performing work under the contract. Bidders are advised to review the requirements of Chapter 2.212 (COVID-19 Vaccinations of County Contactor Personnel) and the sample contract requirements prior to submitting a bid. Each bid must be accompanied by a surety bond payable to County of Los Angeles in an amount equal to at least $75,000 to guarantee that the bidder will enter into the contract if it is so awarded. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code Section 1771.1 (a)]. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project (awarded on or after April 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. All persons performing the work shall be paid not less than the General Prevailing Wage Determination prepared by the Director of Industrial Relations pursuant to the State Labor Code. Copies of these wage rates are available at Public Works. The successful bidder must provide full disclosure of False Claims Act violations, labor law/payroll violations, debarments, and civil/criminal legal actions as provided in the Instructions to Bidders. Failure to complete these forms may result in a determination that the bidder is nonresponsive and/or not responsible. The contract, if awarded, will be awarded to a responsible contractor with the lowest responsive bid; however, the Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all bids. A responsible contractor is one who has demonstrated the attribute of trustworthiness, as well as quality, fitness, capacity, and experience to satisfactorily perform the contract. It is the County's policy to conduct business only with responsible contractors. The successful bidder will be required to submit a faithful performance bond in the amount of $750,000, a payment bond in the amount of $750,000, liability insurance, automobile insurance, and worker's compensation insurance with the contract.
