Sealed bids for Cold Planning, Reclamation and In-Place Bituminous Concrete to be used for Town Roads, Sidewalks, and Other Areas on an as needed basis commencing with renewal options for two additional one-year periods. Wages are subject to minimum wages as per M.G.L., Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D inclusive. A bid deposit (cash, certified check or bank check) or a bid bond, issued by a surety licensed by the Mass Division of Insurance and satisfactory to the awarding authority, in the amount of 5% of the bid is required. All bids and materials must meet Mass D.P.W. specifications. As of July 1, 2006, any person submitting a bid for, or signing a contract to work on, a construction contract estimated to cost more than $10,000 must provide certain certifications in the bid or contract pertaining to the completion by all employees to be employed at the worksite and in the work of a construction safety and health course that is at least ten hours in duration and has been approved by the United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The Town of Halifax reserves the right to reject all bids, in whole or in part, and to make awards in a manner deemed in the best interest of the Town as provided by M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M.
