The Project includes the following Work: To provide all labor, materials, equipment, and appurtenances necessary to rehabilitate the existing backwash filter vessels, piping, and pumps, including but not limited to: the modification of the existing underdrain system to drill out (56) 2-1 16" threaded holes in each pressure filter and include (56) 3" stainless steel wedge wire nozzles in each pressure filter, the rehabilitation of the coating system in the existing filter vessels, the removal and replacement of the existing air scour piping with stainless steel air scour piping, the removal of the existing filter media support gravel and replacement of 8" of new support gravel, the removal and replacement of the existing filter media with 36" of Layne Ox filter media, and the modification of the existing backwash pump to remove the existing 8.75" impeller and replace with a 9.60" impeller. The Work will be substantially completed within 180 calendar days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run, and completed and ready for final payment within 270 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run.
Liquidated damages shall be $1,000 per day A bidder may not withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to Mason County Public Service District in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid. Contractor is required to provide the Drug Free Workplace Certification in accordance with WV Code 21-1D-5. All Bidders are required to have a West Virginia Contractor's License per Section 30-42-12 of the West Virginia Code. Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the reception of bids will be returned unopened to the bidders. The Mason County Public Service District reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
