Construction Management at Risk for Soil Science Headhouse and Soil Storage Building Renovation Project The University of Georgia Office of University Architects (Using Agency) on behalf of the Board of Regents of The University System of Georgia (Owner) is soliciting responses from Construction Manager at Risk Firms interested in and capable of providing construction services for the Project BR-10-2207 Soil Science Headhouse and Soil Storage Building Renovations on the campus of The University of Georgia at Athens, GA A project description is provided below: This proposed renovation of the 1970 Soil Science Headhouse (3,436 SF) and the adjacent 1990 Soil Storage Building (1,086 SF) will include a teaching and soils preparation potting space, ADA compliant restrooms, centralized storage of pesticides and soils, and areas for potting of experiments. The renovation will include replacement of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems that are currently beyond their expected lifespan. The project will also connect the two facilities with an open breezeway and include associated hardscape improvements. The preliminary Stated Cost Limitation (SCL) or construction cost of the Project is estimated at $1,332,000.00. The final SCL may be revised by the Owner due to final programmatic requirements, funding availability or other circumstances. Project Schedule The Design Professional's services are anticipated to commence July 2022. Construction documents are anticipated for completion in October 2022. Preconstruction services are expected to begin immediately upon execution of the contract with the CM/GC. The CM/GC shall obtain written authorization from the Owner prior to proceeding with any additional services. The start of construction is anticipated to begin in October, 2023. (All of the dates above are estimates and are contingent on the availability of funding).
