The amount of the bond shall be 100 percent of the total contract price, as this sum is set forth in the agreement. Material and Labor Bond. As a part of the execution of this contract, the Contractor shall furnish a bond of a surety company or other securities providing equivalent protection such as cash, letter of credit or certificates of deposit acceptable to the City in a sum not less than 50 percent of the total contract price, as this sum is set forth in the agreement for the payment in full of all persons, companies or corporations who perform labor upon or furnish materials to be used in the work under this contract, in accordance with the provisions of Sections 3247 through 3252 inclusive of the Civil Code of the State of California and any acts amendatory thereof.
