As of April 17, 2023, construction is underway. Most trades have been awarded at this point. A few of the lower priority ones are still in progress. The intent of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is to select a qualified construction management firm pursuant to Chapter 1013, Florida Statutes, the Florida Consultant's Competitive Negotiation Act, Section 287.055 Florida Statutes, and Rule 6A-2.0010, Florida Administrative Code to perform a broad range of construction management and related services for a new middle school. The selected construction management firm will support all phases of the project including preconstruction, design, permitting, bid review, submittal reviews, construction administration and post-construction services throughout the entirety of the project. The scope of work is to provide construction management services for a new one-story middle school serving approximately 900 students in grades 7 and 8. The middle school will be located on the vacant +/- 28 acre site located immediately north of Viera High School (6103 Stadium Parkway, Viera Fl. 32940). The site is encumbered by a lease agreement for occasional civic events through December 30, 2022. The construction manager will have access to the site, but will not have control of the site until January 1, 2023. Construction is planned to start by January 2023 with completion no later than June 2024. The working budget is approximately $40 million Shortlist Confirmed.
