Renovation of a medical facility in Seattle, Washington. Working plans call for the renovation of a 40,000-square-foot medical facility; and 40,000-square-foot, two-story above grade medical facility.
UW Facilities, Project Delivery Group, will be issuing a RFQ in mid-July 2022 for the purpose of selecting a Design-Builder to provide progressive design-build services for the design and construction of A-Wing Floor 4-5 Renovation at the UW Medical Center Northwest. Desired qualification of the Design-Build, team include a builder and an architect/designer with experience in renovating hospital spaces within an operating facility and extensive understanding of Department of Health design guidelines and City building codes. This project rénovates approximately 40.000 SF of an existing in-patient space on floors 4 and 5. This renovation will be done in phases and scope includes replacement of ductboard supply and return air ducts, nurse call replacement, room renovations, nurse station renovations, and corridor renovations with new lighting to meet programmatic and code requirements. The primary focus of the improvements are maintenance repairs and not intended to trigger substantia] alteration permit requirements. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
