Renovation of a mixed-use development in Honolulu, Hawaii. Completed plans call for the renovation of a parking garage.
The primary goals of the rehabilitation are to restore the integrity of the concrete structure and replace the primary waterproofing system and concrete wear slab to help prevent water leaks above the post office and mailroom. The Contractor must provide all material, labor, tools, supplies, equipment, transportation, superintendence, temporary construction of every nature, and all other services and facilities necessary to complete the repair of the subject postal facility, in accordance with the Plans and Specifications, including all incidental work described in the contract documents. All costs should be included in the provided Schedule of Values. This will be a lump sum bid, based on quantities in the Schedule of Values (SOV). All incidental work items not specifically listed in the Schedule of Values should be included in the most appropriate Line Item. The cost associated with Quantity overruns will be based on the Unit Price included in the SOV. All work shall be in accordance with applicable codes and local regulations that may apply. In case of conflict in or between the Contract Documents and a governing code or ordinance, the more stringent standard shall apply Provide a job specific Health and Safety Plan, with Activity Hazard Analysis, and other general requirements presented in the Division 01 Specifications. In the event that any work will disturb ACM or LBP, immediately notify the Wood Project Manager. Follow USPS/OSHA guidelines if ACM/LBP materials will be disturbed. An allowance has been included in the SOV for ACM and/or LBP abatement. Identify proper lay down areas and coordinate all work with USPS personnel. Contractor is not to move mail processing equipment or containers without express written consent of the facility management. Repair or replace any USPS property that is damaged as a result of this work. Follow all USPS lock-out tag-out procedures. Cost for lock-out tag-out included in the Allowance for replacement of embedded electrical conduit. Adhere to all documentation required in the specification which includes, but not limited to, safety documentation, daily and weekly reports, submittals for products and packing slips, request for information forms, etc. Attend bi-weekly (every other week) project progress teleconferences/meetings during the project. Provide required closeout project and technical documents as required by the specifications. Unit and Lump Sum prices should be populated in the provided SOV. Unbalancing of Unit Prices in SOV shall be grounds for being determined to be non-responsive. 100% of payment and performance bonds are required. Bonds to list both Wood and USPS. Provide with pricing proposal, a preliminary schedule and phasing plan for the duration of the project. Phasing with the facility will be critical for the success of this project. Contractor should be aware that closure of the entire deck at one time, except for short durations, will not be permitted. Separate Excel Schedule of Values for should be populated with prices and will be the basis for the bid price.
