The City of Paducah, KY is seeking the services of a qualified, and experienced, Historic Preservation Consultant, to provide technical advice, consultation, and recommendations for preservation and stewardship of certain historical cultural assets and neighborhoods. All properties to be reviewed are located within the City of Paducah corporate boundaries and may be owned by parties other than the City of Paducah, KY. The consultant will work with representatives of the City of Paducah to achieve the following deliverables: a. In person community meetings with identified stakeholders b. An executable approach to preserving the history and character of historic African American neighborhoods c. List of potential cultural assets for further research, designation, and preservation d. Explore a placemaking strategy to increase public awareness and engagement of Paducah's African American history and associated landmarks e. Written report on findings and recommendations The proposed project period is from August 2022 through December 2022.
