The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids from qualified contractors to provide cost to repair Council Bluffs Door #9 Masonry Repairs at the Iowa DOT Council Bluffs South facility. Qualified contractor to furnish and install construction masonry in accordance with the building code requirements and specifications for masonry structures as reported by MSJC (TMS 402 & 602 / ACI 530 & 530.1 / ASCE 5 &6). Remove corner protection bollard and re-install upon masonry repair. Remove metal trim. Straighten metal, reinstall and paint upon masonry repair. Remove and replace broken or cracked exterior brick and interior CMU at overhead door jamb. Install new closure style brick to match the existing (owner to verify color match). Install appropriate brick ties, as necessary. Reference plans, scope of work and photos. This work is to be completed at the Council Bluffs South Maintenance garage per plans and specifications included in this solicitation. Project includes removal and disposal of the existing materials and demolition items off site. Work area to be cleaned upon project completion. Estimated project period is to begin as soon as possible upon bid award with completion on or before December 1, 2022 or as determined in the pre-construction meeting by the Project Manager. This includes punch list items and final inspection and acceptance by the Iowa DOT. It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule.
