The project consists of removal and replacement of existing PCC sidewalk, curb and gutter and other related work as described in the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents, by this reference, made a part hereof. The engineer's estimate for this project is $1,100,000. The successful bidder shall have FORTY (40) working days to complete the work. Liquidated damages shall be $500.00 per calendar day. This project is subject to the requirements of SB 854. No prime contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project unless registered and qualified with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. No prime contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project unless registered and qualified with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The bid proposal must include a printout from the DIR registration website showing that the prime contractor and each subcontractor is currently registered and qualified. No bid proposals will be accepted, nor any contract entered into with a prime contractor without proof of registration as required above. [Unless within the limited exceptions from this requirement for bid proposals only under Labor Code Section 1771.1(a)] Each bid must be accompanied by a bidder's security in an amount not less than 10% of the amount of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will, if awarded the Contract, enter into a satisfactory agreement, and provide a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each not less than 100% of the total amount of the bid price. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty-one (61) days after the above bid opening date.
