Site work for a water / sewer project in Wolcott, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Construct a 920 LF long MSE gabion retaining wall and slope (10 to 40 feet tall); and combination of soil nailing and concrete panels to stabilize an adjacent 190 LF timber retaining wall. Location : Wayne County Soil and Water Conservation District The proposed project includes a 920 LF long Mechanically Stabilized Earth wall (geogrid reinforced graded sloped and partial height gabion face revetment) varying in height from 10 feet to 40 feet tall along the Lake Ontario shore line. Approximately 16,000 CY of imported select backfill will be imported, placed, and compacted behind the gabions. The bottom four gabion rows (up to Elev. 256.0 +/-) will be fully grouted; and top three gabion basket rows (to Elev. 265.0 +/-) will be vegetated. Extra heavy stone rip-rap will be placed along the revetment base to provide added wave and erosion protection. The project also includes improvements to stabilize an adjacent 190 LF +/- long RR timber and concrete bulkhead. The improvements consist of soil nailing through the existing timbers and placing precast concrete panels over the timbers. The panels would be placed between steel CChannels attached to the existing concrete base. Extra heavy stone rip-rap would be placed in front of the existing concrete footer for additional scour protection
