The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC) is the research arm of NOAA Fisheries in the region. The Center plans, develops, and manages a multidisciplinary program of basic and applied research. Currently we do not have a way to work safely with the fish in the tanks due to the height of the tanks. The tanks are 72" tall and we need to work around the tanks without the risk of falling into the tanks or off the platform. The height of the deck and railings must comply with OSHA and all local building code. The requirement will support the advancement of land based and open ocean finfish aquaculture in the Mid-Atlantic through experimentation into its potential environmental impacts General Requirements 2.1 Scope of Work/Specific Tasks. Non-Personal Service. Contractor shall provide all plant, trained labor, equipment, supplies, transportation, and quality control necessary to successfully construct a deck around 3 - 72" tanks at the Sandy Hook lab, see attachment A. The walkways are required to properly and safely work with the fish that are being kept in the tanks. Quality Control. Quality Control is the responsibility of the Contractor Diagram Estimated 32" high platform 40" guardrail, preferably fiberglass and removable. Guardrail shall protect staff working around tanks from falling in the tanks and staff working on the platform from falling off the platform.
