The County will receive sealed bids for the following Butler Township demolition project: Project A Butler 193 Broad Street (Fountain Springs) :Name of individual and/or firm must appear on outside of sealed envelope containing bid. TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID FOR EACH PROJECT SHALL APPEAR ON THE BID FORM AS A SEPARATE LINE ITEM. Addenda, if any, will be issued to only those persons whose name and address are on record as having obtained the contract documents. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check or bid bond in an amount equal to at least ten (10%) per cent of the total amount bid. Such bid bond will be returned to all bidders upon the signing of the contract to the successful bidder. IMPORTANT NOTE: Money orders and personal checks are NOT acceptable forms of bid security; as per the provisions of the County Code. No bid will be considered unless it is accompanied by the required guaranty. A fee of $10.00 for postage and handling will be charged to bidders wishing to receive documents by mail. Certified checks shall be made payable to BUTLER TOWNSHIP; bid bonds shall name Butler Township as obligee. Attention is called to the fact that Pennsylvania Prevailing Wages must be paid on ANY SINGLE BID THAT IS IN EXCESS OF $25,000.00. The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, ancestry, national origin or handicap; and that the Contractor (and any subcontractors) is obligated to make a "diligent effort" to achieve these ratios. The contract documents contain requirements addressing prevailing wage rates, labor standards, nondiscrimination in hiring practices, goals for minority and female participation, MBE and WBE participation and related matters. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding or to reject any or all items or portions thereof. Bids may be held by the owner for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) days from the date of opening bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders prior to awarding the contract
