The Pokagon Band is seeking proposals for the restoration of meanders to the Dowagiac River. This construction is set to begin in the late fall and winter of 2022-2023 Dowagiac River Bid Package In general, this project, located on the Dowagiac River, includes channel construction and large wood installation to restore the Dowagiac River. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Access development and erosion, sediment, pollution and water control. 2. Clearing and large wood salvage. 3. Earthwork to excavate the proposed river channel and fill the existing river channel 4. Installation of cribwalls and floodplain large wood structures to stabilize bank and floodplain areas. 5. Installation of grade control riffles. 6. Installation of fabric encapsulated soil lifts and surface fabric bank treatments 7. Planting, seeding, and site restoration.
