Site work for a water / sewer project in Acadia Valley, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The proposed project will expand the current rural water system in the County. The initial phase of the project commenced in 2011 and a total of 1,200 km of pipe and 1,500 service connections were installed. This second phase of the Water Project could include up to 350 km of new pipe and 700 service connections. Refer to the figures provided in Appendix B for an overview of potential areas of work. The project will be divided into numerous Contracts commencing in the fall of 2022 and ending in the spring of 2024. Major items of work in these contracts may include: a) Installation of 40mm and 50mm HDPE pipe by horizontal direction drill and opencut excavation methods, b) Flushing and disinfection of pipe, c) Service Connections from existing or new pipe laterals, d) Coordination with the County of Newell and Newell Regional Services Corporation, e) Highway Crossings, f) County Road Crossings, g) Railway Crossings, h) Irrigation District Crossings, i) Gas/Oil Crossings.
