Renovation of a water / sewer project in Oxford, Ohio. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The City of Oxford (City) intends to execute a contract for professional engineering services for the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Membrane Softening Improvements Project. The City's Water Treatment Plant is located at 4935 Oxford Trenton Road, Oxford, Ohio. The existing iron and manganese removal plant has been in operation since July of 1991. The plant treats groundwater from two separate well fields using induced draft aeration, gravity filtration, fluoride addition, and gas chlorine disinfection prior to pumping finished water with high service pumps into the City's distribution system. The facility has a design maximum treatment capacity of 6.8 mgd and currently treats an average of approximately 2.5 mgd on an annual basis. A Water Treatment Plant Softening Alternatives Analysis report was completed by Strand Associates, Inc. in 2021 which evaluated softening alternatives. The City has decided to proceed with the recommended membrane softening process to upgrade the existing water treatment plant. Each bidder must insure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex or national origin and are required to follow all State of Ohio prevailing wage rate requirements. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
