Renovation of a fire / police facility in Williamsburg, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
The WPD's Firing Range needs refurbishment in order to adequately address concerns of safety, liability, and efficiency. The facility requires modernization. We seek to develop a facility which includes a classroom, a storage building with administrative space, modern modular shoot house, and state of the art instructional technology including high-speed cameras. Outside the secure training area we want to build a pavilion space to be utilized by all City staff for outdoor gatherings and morale events set against the beautiful backdrop of the reservoir. Funding this project eliminates the need to fund the Firing Range Repairs project. This project is in included in the City's or County's FY 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of July 12, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
