The Port of Willapa Harbor is accepting proposals from qualified firms to address planning for the re-development of a waterfront cannery/pier/upland facility of approximately 9 acres including 28,000 square feet of buildings, 33,000 sq ft marine wharf, DNR aquatic lands, and 700 feet of US101 and 700 feet of Willapa River frontage. The purpose ofthe re-development planning is to plan for and phase site redevelopment upgrades, business recruitment, business development/marketing and accommodation of visitors. Specific, goals include: Involvement of community representatives, Site assessment of existing structures, Identify opportunities in small manufacturing business, Include a developing Creative District concepts, Support and grow existing business and plan for adjacent complementary amenities such as the proposed Willapa Hills Trailhead, Prioritize opportunities include community diversity, visitor attraction, include environmentally friendly and sustainable elements such as charging stations, public accessible spaces and connections, project economic outcomes including jobs created, wages and benefits and community wide benefits, Develop a marketing plan including modern social media platforms, and develop a phased implementation plan, The project is expected to be completed by March 2023. The site is 3113 Robert Bush Drive East, South Bend Washington 98586. Proposals must include resumes of the lead planner(s) and architect/ engineer(s)s. Include a description of similar projects, references, and a schedule of hourly rates. The Firm selected for this project will be selected based on qualifications redeveloping similar projects, proximity to the project site, and availability to complete the planning redevelopment design in a timely manner.
