The Town of Carrboro is requesting written qualifications to select an Engineering firm (Consultant) to provide site assessment services for four Town-owned parcels. The solicitation and selection of a qualified firm to enter into a contract shall be conducted in accordance with all state and federal requirements and guidelines. Subconsultants will be permitted under this contract and required to comply with all state and federal standards applicable to the project. The Town owns parcels of land which may be suitable for residential development, potentially to create new affordable housing. This request is for qualifications from a firm to conduct a site assessment of these parcels to understand the feasibility for development. The parcels are located along public streets developed as subdivisions in the 1980s 1990s. For the assessment of the sites, the Town is requesting an evaluation of the physical characteristics to identify issues that may affect a development concept. These issues include but are not limited to topography, zoning regulations, wetlands, soil conditions, stormwater, and sewer. Information pertaining to zoning regulations will be provided by the Town. This work will inform the community, elected officials, and potential developers of relevant constraints. This project will require an engineering analysis of the following four Town-owned parcels. The Town of Carrboro is seeking qualifications from interested Engineering Firms to complete a site analysis for 4 Town of Carrboro owned parcels. The selected firm shall complete the work approximately three (3) months from the date of the
Notice to Proceed. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
