The Housing Authority of Kansas City, Kansas is seeking qualified contractors to bid on selective window repair at Chalet Manor, located at Birch Street and Ruby Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas 66101 Chalet Manor is experiencing water infiltration around windows in various dwelling units throughout the development. A number of the windows on the 2nd story of the buildings in this development need various repairs completed. Repairs will consist and range from: caulking and painting; partial replacement of rotted trim, caulking and painting; to complete removal and replacement of all trim, which will include the installation of flashing tape around the window, installation of metal flashing, new trim, caulking and painting. The Kansas City Kansas Housing Authority is requesting bids for the repair of these windows. Generally, the work consists of an assessment of each window, with staff, to determine the extent of repair to be completed. Contractors will provide a unit price for each of the following:
To clean, scrape any loose paint, caulk all gaps around windows, prime bare wood and apply two coats of paint per window and an aggregate price to complete 100 windows.
Selective replacement of up to 50% of rotten trim, installation of flashing tape as needed, installation of metal flashing, installation of new trim, clean, scrape any loose paint on remaining wood, caulk all gaps around windows, prime are wood and apply two coats of paint per window and an aggregate price to complete 100 windows.
Demolition of all window trim, installation of flashing tape around windows, installation of metal flashing, installation of metal flashing, installation of new trim, clean, scrape any loose paint on remaining wood, caulk all gaps around windows, prime bare wood and apply two coats of paint per window and an aggregate price to complete 100 windows. This project is federally funded and subject to all applicable regulations. Prevailing wages will be paid for this project per the wage rate attached.
