Submit a Sealed Bid for the Furnishing of Supplies, Equipment, Services and/or Material + Labor Subject to the Terms and Conditions and Special Instructions of This Bid. Specification for Knife Gate Valves Knife Gate Valves Shall Be Orbinox Heavy Duty Model 20 Consisting of a One Piece Integrally Cast Type 316 Stainless Steel Full Lug Body With Reinforced Ribs, Ansi Class 150 Flange Connection. Fabricated Valve Designs Are Not Acceptable. Valve Gate Shall Be a 316 Stainless Steel and Polished and Lapped for a Leak Tight Seal Between the Gate With Both Packing and Resilient Seat. Bottom of Gate Edge Shall Be Machined to a Bevel to Cut Through Solids for a Tighter Seal in Closed Position. The Valve's Resilient Seat Must Be an "l" Shaped Epdm Elastomer Mechanically Retained by a 316 Stainless Steel Seat Retainer Ring. To Prevent Leakage to Atmosphere, the Valve Is to Be Supplied With an Adjustable Packing Assembly Including Multiple Rows of Ptfe Impregnated Synthetic Fiber Packing and a Row of Epdm O-ring Material to Enhance Sealing and Act as a Gate Wiper, All of Which Are Compressed Evenly by the One-piece Cast 316 Stainless Steel Packing Gland. Valve Stem Shall Be 430 Stainless Steel. Extended Stems Shall Be Required in Most Applications and Required Stem Guides Shall Be 316 Stainless Steel With Uhmwpe Bearings. Valves Shall Be Rising Stem and Shall Include a One-piece Upper Clear Schedule 40 Pvc Stem Protector. Floorstands Shall Also Be Fabricated From 316 Stainless Steel and Shall Be of the Appropriate Height to Position the Hand Wheel or Gear at Approximately 36" Above the Operating Floor Elevation. Valve Sizes Shall Be From 6" Thru 24". Valves Shall Be Either Hand Wheel Operated or Operated Using Rotork Model Ib Bevel Gearboxes and Shall Be Appropriately Sized for Operation of Valve With No More Than 40 Lbs. Rim-pull. Spare Parts Kits When Required Shall Include One Complete Seat Assembly and One Complete Packing Assembly. Supplier Shall Provide Field Services at Various Locations When Requested for Final Check Out and Approval of Installations at No Added Cost. The Contract Shall Be for a Period of One (1) Year and May Be Extended Up to Four (4) Times, for Individual Terms Not to Exceed One Year, by Mutual Agreement Between the Contractor and Suffolk County. The Original Contract Period, Plus Extensions, Shall Not Exceed Five (5) Years Total The County Reserves the Right to Award Future Contracts/purchase Orders to the Next Low Bidder in the Event of Default or Cancellation of a Previously Awarded Contract/purchase Order.
