It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Overview: Sloan Maintenance garage has had frequent backups at the 6" drain at southwest corner in the Maintenance Garage Truck Bays. The DOT is seeking plumbing vendor to investigate the issue/s and repair the sewer problem/s. Reference attached plans for location of frequent backups and approximate location of sewer line - exact location to be field verified. Base bid shall include the following investigation and repair: Investigation may include but not limited to scoping the sewer line with elevations to identify location/s of issues within the line. Anticipated issue exist somewhere just inside the maintenance garage and the city sewer connection. The restroom, drinking fountain, and 6" truck bay drain lines connect to sewer line before exiting the building. Plumbing vendor to identify location of issue/s and present repair solutions to the DOT project manager. Repair to consist of 15 linear feet of exterior sewer line to be removed and replaced - location to be determined by vendor. Exterior 4" cast iron piping outside the building to be removed. Vender to furnish and install new 4" schedule 40 piping (all pipe diameters to be confirmed onsite prior to repair). Plumbing vendor to remove and properly dispose of all debris. Work to include all labor and materials for a fully functioning sewer line repair. Any additional linear footage of sewer line replacement work to be done according to unit pricing. Unit Price #1: Provide linear foot pricing to remove 4" cast iron pipe and furnish/install 4" schedule 40 piping. Plumbing vendor to remove and properly dispose of all debris. Work to include excavation, cutting, fittings, infill, etc. for a fully functioning sewer line repair Contractor to be a licensed plumber in the state of Iowa.
