Double L Saloon Facade Rehabilitation On Monday August 8, 2022, 7:00 pm at the City Fire Station, 201 1ST Street N.E., West Bend, a Public Hearing will be held on the proposed plans, specifications and proposed form of Contract for "CITY OF WEST BEND - DOUBLE L SALOON FACADE REHABILITATION, West Bend, IA", and at said hearing, any interested person may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of said improvement. Proposals will be acted upon by the City of West Bend at the Fire Station, 201 1 st Street N.E., West Bend, on Monday August 8, 2022, after the 7:00 pm Public Hearing, or at such later time and place as may then be fixed. The method of construction shall be by Single Stipulated Sum Contract, and all work is to be done in strict compliance with the plans and specifications prepared by Bergland & Cram Architects (and Consultants) Mason City, Iowa, which have heretofore been approved by City of West Bend and are now on file for public examination in their office, and at a number of regional plan rooms. A list of these plan rooms may be obtained by contacting the Architect at (641) 423-6349. Each bid must be made out on a proposal blank furnished by the Bergland & Cram Architects, Mason City, Iowa and obtained at the office of the Architect. Each proposal shall be sealed in an envelope marked "City of West Bend - Double L Saloon Facade Revitalization, West Bend, IA". Each bid must be accompanied in a separate envelope by a bidding check, bid bond or a certified share draft in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid price, said check being either a cashier's check, a check certified by a bank in Iowa or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States or a certified share draft on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, and made payable to West Bend, as security that the bidder will furnish the required bonds and enter into a contract within ten (10) days after the award of the contract to the bidder. Work shall commence immediately after award of contract and be completed by April 28th, 2023. The Contractor and all Subcontractors shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age, familial status or sexual orientation. The Contractor shall take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment without regard to their race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age, familial status or sexual orientation. Such action shall include, but not be limited to the following; employment, upgrading, demotion or transfer; recruitment or recruitment advertising; layoff or termination; rates of pay or other forms of compensation; and selection for training, including apprenticeship. The Contractor agrees to post in conspicuous places, available to employees and applicants for employment, notices setting forth the policies of non-discrimination The City of West Bend Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities.
