Site work for a water / sewer project in Walnut Creek, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

As of August 17th, 2022, project has not been awarded yet. No timeline of award was established. The Project includes, but is not limited to, performing the following Work: Provide Labour, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the installation of a 24" PVC storm drain pipe and epoxy lined manhole structures within the Public Right of Way and drainage easement. The existing pipe structure shall be abandoned in place with low density cellulose concrete. The project include but not limited to; roadway restoration, concrete flatwork, erosion control, trench shoring, dewatering and/or bypass and landscape restoration. The Contractor shall complete all the Work on the Project within 30 working days after the beginning date specified in the Notice to Proceed. In accordance with the Labour Code Sections 1771 and 1773.2, the City Council of the City of Walnut Creek has ascertained the general prevailing rate of wages applicable to this Work. These rates are on file in the Public Works Department. No contractor or subcontractor shall be qualified to bid on, or be listed in a bid proposal unless currently registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. No bids will be accepted from a Contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with Business and Professions Code Section 7000 and following. The license requirement for this Project is Class A General Engineering Contractors License. The Project Manual (and any Addenda) is available online The City of Walnut Creek reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in the bids. All bids shall be accompanied by cash, a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check payable to the City of Walnut Creek in an amount equal to 10% of the total amount bid. Upon award of the contract, the successful Bidder shall furnish a bond for faithful performance in the amount of 100% of the total bid; the successful Bidder shall also furnish a bond to secure the payment of all claims for labour and material in the amount of 100% of the total bid. The successful Bidder and subcontractors are required to pay for and obtain a City of Walnut Creek Business License. Retention. The Contractor may elect to receive 100% of payments due under the contract from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payment by the public agency, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City or an escrow agent in accordance with Public Contract Code Section 22300. Such securities, if deposited by the Contractor, shall be valued by the City's Administrative Services Director whose decision on valuation of the securities shall be final. The Contractor's attention is called to the Business and Professions Code Section 7108.5, which generally requires subcontractors to be paid not later than seven days after receipt of each progress payment.
