The Berkeley campus of the University of California is seeking a licensed architect, registered engineer, or licensed general contractor to submit written statements of qualifications to provide Construction Management services for the University Hall Seismic Retrofit project. Estimated Construction Cost: $40M - $60M The Berkeley campus is implementing the University Hall Seismic Retrofit project to bring University Hall up to current seismic requirements so the building can be used for surge. This is a voluntary retrofit and the project is intended to be a code minimum project, not a full renovation. The project will also include program improvements for the buildings new occupants. University Hall is located at 2018 Oxford Street on the west side of the Berkeley Campus. The immediate need is for one Construction Manager to assist Capital Projects with management of the design phase of University Hall. Immediate availability is critical; firms must certify that their proposed Construction Manager is available at least 50% time immediately. Because of the onsite nature of the assignment, only personnel local to the San Francisco Bay Area, who are able to come to the UC Berkeley Campus on a daily basis will be considered. Capital Projects will determine future staffing needs with the successful firm. The selected Construction Manager will assist the Capital Projects Project Manager in managing/coordinating the remainder of the preconstruction and construction phases of the project. Responsibilities will include all aspects of project delivery including early scoping, estimating, budgeting, design management, value engineering, design review, constructability review, project scheduling, project delivery analysis, construction trade coordination, change order review/analysis, submittal reviews, RFI review, meeting notes, etc. Questions about this RFQ or the project should be submitted electonically no later than 5:00p.m. PST on July 20, 2022. Interested parties are expressly prohibited from contacting any other party associated with this project, including but not limited to UC Berkeley employees, representatives, consultants, and donors, during this RFQ process, including interviews and contracting. Such contact will serve as reason for firm disqualification. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
