The Northchase library branch will serve multiple unincorporated communities, including Murrayville, Ogden, Porters Neck and Castle Hayne. The construction contract was awarded to Monteith Construction Corporation at the May 20 regular meeting for the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners. ________________________________________________ NHC Northchase Library Build The work consists of furnishing labor and materials for the construction of a one level approximately 19,000 square foot library, Scope will include all details as described in detail in the plans and specifications dated 3/28/24 by Little Diversified Architectural Consulting. Bids will be received for a Single Prime Contract. Bidders must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statues and pre-qualified in accordance with New Hanover County's pre-qualification ordinance. A Bid Bond Equal to 5% of the base bid price is required by all bidders. The successful bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment bonds equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. No Bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after bid opening date. The bidder shall make good faith efforts, as defined in the bid specifications, to subcontract 10% of the dollar value of the single prime contract to businesses owned and controlled by minorities.
