The Contract scope of work includes dewatering and sludge removal from cells LG-601A and LG-601C at the BPWTP and disposal of cake solids, having met the requirements of these specifications, to the Moose Jaw Landfill. Refer to Appendices A-D for a pond sludge survey and results. In general terms, the work will consist of the following: 1. Mobilization to site and demobilization following completion of the Work. 2. Design, supply, installation, operation, and removal of pumping equipment to pump the liquid effluent of the pond cells, 1 cell at a time, to an adjacent cell for liquid effluent storage. 3. Design, supply, installation, operation, and removal of all pumping/mixing equipment and piping required for sludge removal from the pond cells, 1 at a time, and to convey the material to Contractor supplied dewatering equipment in the designated laydown/staging area. 4. Design, supply, installation, operation, and removal of a temporary centrifuge dewatering system to dewater the sludge removed from the pond cells to a cake solids content (by weight) of a minimum 25% verified by an independent qualified testing agency retained by the Contractor. 5. Confirmation that the work will be completed within the available staging area. 6. Design, supply, installation, operation, and removal of the appropriate chemical conditioning (polymer) materials, doses, mixing and dosing systems necessary to complete the Work. 7. Refer to Appendix A-D for sludge sample data and survey provided by BPWTC for Contractor to determine approximate sludge removal quantities. 8. The Contractor will be responsible for providing a portable power source and fuel required for completing the work. 9. Cake solids having met the performance criteria detailed in the specifications shall be hauled to the Moose Jaw Landfill for disposal. Tipping fees are to be paid by the BPWTC. 10. Cake solids not meeting the performance criteria detailed in the specifications shall be further conditioned by the Contractor at no additional expense to the BPWTC and will be hauled to the Moose Jaw Landfill by the Contractor once subsequent testing by the Contractor's independent qualified testing agency, validating that the cake solids meet the performance criteria, is provided to the Engineer and the Engineer has authorized removal. 11. Site clean up and restoration to original conditions prior to demobilization from site.
