The Town of Woodfin is soliciting proposals from interested and qualified firms to provide planning services for the implementation of a town-wide comprehensive planning process. Firms must have extensive experience in the development of comprehensive plans with multiple chapters or elements and robust public engagement. The planning process is expected to take approximately 6- 8 months and will include collection of data, analysis of demographic and historical information, an existing land use inventory, as well as an analysis of zoning and development activity within the Town. The role of the selected firm will be to work with the Woodfin community and the town to guide the development of a new comprehensive plan and twenty-year land use vision. Specifically, the firm will develop and carry out creative outreach methods, facilitate public meetings, compile and analyze information, form a future land use map, create innovative and user-friendly documents and interactive web-based documents, present to boards and commissions, and create attainable recommendations for implementation of goals. The comprehensive plan will serve as both a physical plan and policy guide, and will be used by elected officials and appointed boards, staff, community members, and other decision makers who are charged with shaping how Woodfin will be managed and how it will grow in the future. The Town of Woodfin reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, waive technicalities, and judge the suitability of the proposed services for its intended use, and further specifically reserve the right to make the award in the best interests of the Town and negotiate the total fee amount. Upon delivery, all RFP submittals shall become the property of the Town of Woodfin and shall become a matter of public record.
