For furnishing and installing a cartridge filtration system at the Village of Valaties Water Filtration Plant, near Pump House Road and Trolley Lane, Valatie, New York, Work consists of the construction of a two-stage cartridge filtration system in the Well 3 & 4 pump house, including two cartridge filters, ductile iron pipe, flanged fittings and valves, all pipe supports, and miscellaneous equipment, including pressure testing and disinfection/bacteriological testing. The system is to be furnished with an additional 5 and 1 micron cartridge filter element. Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified check in the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid, drawn upon a national or state bank or trust company, to the order of the Village of Valatie, or a bond with sufficient sureties in a penal sum equal to five percent (5%) of the Bid, conditioned that if Bidders Bid is accepted, Bidder will enter into a Contract for the same. Performance and payment bonds are not required for this project. The Bidder to whom the Contract may be awarded shall attend at the said opening place of the said Bids, with the sureties offered by the Bidder, within seven (7) days after the date of the Notice of Award, and there sign the Contract for the Work in triplicate. In case of Bidders failure to do so, or in case of Bidders failure to give further security as herein prescribed, the Bidder will be considered as having abandoned the same and the certified check or other bid security accompanying Bidder's proposal shall be forfeited to the Village of Valatie. The Village of Valatie reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids submitted.
