Township of North Dundas receive street light locate requests as part of Ontario One Call. Most of street lights in the Township of North Dundas have overhead wire connections. Hence, the successful bidder may provide clearance based on desktop survey, drive by check or actual locating at the site. The successful vendor shall have access to the system to receive and submit the requests online. Provide sufficient qualified, certified and industry trained locator(s) staff, vehicle, flagging (if required), and all other locating equipment to fulfill its duties under this contract.
Invoicing Requirements: Monthly invoice with the following information for EACH locate: a. Pictures of locates. b. Ticket Number c. Date and Time Completed d. Number of Units and Utility located e. Charge per locate. All locate requests shall be completed within the timeframe required on the locate ticket and all "emergency" request shall be treated as an emergency and completed as soon as possible and as soon as it can be done safely Out of the approximately 800 streetlights throughout North Dundas, the majority are located on Hydro One wood poles. Keep at least three metres away from all power lines. According to Hydro One, following are minimum safe offsets:
750 to 150,000 volts - 3 metres
150,001 to 250,000 volts - 4.5 metres
250,001+ volts - 6 metres Even power lines carrying less than 750 volts can be hazardous. Work should be carried out in accordance with all Ministry of Labour safety requirements. Bidders are encouraged to undertake a field visit of the Township street lights to understand the full scope of the work and the requirements for this work. The approximate number of locate services provided in 2021 was 467. This is based on requests made and construction being completed. There is no guarantee of a minimum number of locates per calendar year. All bids will be irrevocable. This submission is for situations where the value of goods and services would cost less than $2,000.00 per occurrence. Quotes must be guaranteed from August 1, 2022 to May 31, 2024.
