Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Houston, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The work in this contract is for the Champions West Water Line Replacement for Champions Municipal Utility District (Champions MUD) located in Harris County, Texas. The purpose of this project is to replace aging water lines in the Champions West neighborhood and along Champion Forest Drive, including gate valves and fire hydrants, to prevent future water main breaks in the area. In general, this work consists of: Installation of 4-inch, 6-inch, 8-inch, and 12-inch AWWA C-900 water line, by trenchless construction, for all depths, including tracer wire, restrained joints, bends, fittings, open right gate valves with boxes, and Mueller, or approved equal, fire hydrant assemblies. Disinfection and hydrostatic testing shall be completed by the Contractor. Installation of 14-inch steel casing, by trenchless construction, including fittings. Connection of the new water lines to the existing water system by tapping sleeve and valves and wet connections. Installation and connection of new 1-inch long-side and 1-inch short-side service leads from new water line to existing residential water meters using tapping saddle with stainless steel band, including Accurate Meter or Core and Main corporation valves and ball valve curb stops, or approved equal, with u-branches or standard compression fittings at the meter connection. Service lines for 3/4 -inch water meters shall be a single 1-inch service line with a 1-inch by 3/4 -inch u-branch for two meters or standard compression fitting for one meter. Service lines for water meters 1-inch and larger shall be a single line that matches meter size for each meter. No 90-degree curb stops will be allowed. Installation and connection of new service leads, to match existing service lead diameter, from the new water line to the existing commercial water meters using stainless steel tapping saddle or sleeve including Accurate Meter or Core and Main corporation valves and ball valve curb stops, or approved equal. No 90-degree curb stops will be allowed. Abandonment of existing 2-inch, 4-inch, 6-inch, 8-inch, and 12-inch water lines including cutting, draining, plugging, and grouting the existing water line as shown in the plans. Removing existing fire hydrant assemblies and plugging the old fire hydrant connection on the existing line. Existing fire hydrants that are removed are to be salvaged and returned to Champions MUD. Remove and replace concrete pavement including subgrade, curb and gutter, and pavement markings. Site restoration of disturbed areas including replacing damaged sidewalks, ramps, driveways, pavement, turf, plants, shrubs, trees, irrigation lines, fences, and gates. Implementation, maintenance, and removal of traffic control plan, trench safety, and storm water pollution prevention plan best practices including inlet protection barriers. It is the responsibility of the contractor bidding the project to ensure the accuracy of the reproduction of all bid documents and construction drawings. The responsibility includes, but is not limited to proper scaling, paper width and length, etc. Failure to do so may result in errors in the unit bid quantities and/or bid amounts. There will be a site visit after the meeting. Installation and connection of new 1-inch long-side and 1-inch short-side service leads from new water line to existing residential water meters using tapping saddle with stainless steel band, including Accurate Meter or Core and Main corporation valves and ball valve curb stops, or approved equal, with u-branches or standard compression fittings at the meter connection.
