Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Golden, Colorado. Completed plans call for the construction of a 50,000-square-foot, four-story above grade educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; 283,000-square-foot, six-story above grade, 935-space parking garage; and parking garage.
As of February 9, 2023, the Construction Manager has just broken ground on this project and awarded the early trades only. They're working through the remaining trades to be awarded. The Colorado School of Mines ("Mines") is proposing a new mixed-use classroom/parking structure immediately west of the Beck Venture Center between 17th and 18th street, in Golden. This project is necessitated by changing conditions on campus and is intended to address two emerging campus concerns: parking deficiency and classroom deficiency. The proposed classroom building will address these concerns by providing a parking structure with 935 parking spaces, wrapped with a four story, 46,000 GSF building that will provide 17,000 NSF of classroom space, 8,000 sf of faculty office space and a variety of breakout space for student study.
