Site work and new construction of a day care center in Saanichton, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 4,654-square-foot, one-story above grade day care center; and for site work for a day care center.

School District No. 63 (Saanich) (SD63) wishes to retain the services of a qualified Construction Management (CM) firm to work with SD63, its Architect and subconsultants on the development of a new child care centre at 7420 Veyaness Road in Central Saanich. The Veyaness Child Care Centre is a new facility that will be developed on a site owned by SD63, and will be operated by Beacon Community Services. The project is funded by the Ministry of Education and Child Care, but will be managed through the design and construction stages by SD63. The project scope includes the construction of a new 431 square meter building on a greenfield site and will include new play and parking areas. The current project schedule has construction activities starting in January 2023 and completing by May 2023. The new facility is to be occupied and ready to accept students for the start of summer 2023. The new Childcare building is based on a modular design and will be built off-site by a modular building supplier who will be engaged separately by SD63. The CM will be responsible for all civil work located both within the property, and off-site including any civil improvements at the street frontages including sidewalks, paths, asphalt road widening, curbs and all utility connections. The CM will also be responsible for site prep for the new building, including compacted gravel pads, cribbing and anchors for the temporary foundations. Award amount was not released for publication.
