Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Smithers, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
New road construction for approximately 0.4km, and the installation of a 12.192m bridge, on Canyon Creek FSR Branch 23 in the Skeena-Stikine District. The successful contractor is to retain the services of a Professional Engineer for the installation of the 12.192m L75 steel girder modular timber deck bridge (R5-284) at Site R4-212 (the latter site is the official number, though the Bridge Site Plan states Site 7). The Bridge Site Plan refers to road R22852-01 for location of its installation; this road number has changed to 9050-23. The Contractor and Professional Engineer will be responsible to ensure the vertical alignment of the bridge approaches meet industry standards for a minimum 40km/hr road speed. Rip Rap is located within 5.5km from start of Canyon Creek Br. 23 FSR Debris disposal site(s) for End Haul will be confirmed in the field by the ministry representative during construction – within 0.5 km from start of worksite. At the discretion of the contract coordinator, the successful contractor may be required to load, transport, and unload at the worksite: 450mm CMPs (located at start of Canyon Creek FSR Br. 19), and 2 lock blocks (located on Canyon Creek FSR Br. 20).
