Site work, renovation and addition to an elderly care / assisted living facility in Oyen, Alberta. Completed plans call for the addition of a 18,526-square-foot, one-story above grade, 20-room elderly care / assisted living facility; for the renovation of a elderly care / assisted living facility; and for site work for a elderly care / assisted living facility.
Expansion of the existing lodge; single-storey. Building classification for the expansion will be a Group B3 - Care; approximate area of expansion is 1,721.17 m2 (18,526.52 sq ft) Details are as follows: (i) 13 studio units; (ii) 1 bariatric unit; (iii) Common dining space; (iv) Common kitchen (not commercial); (v) Common sitting room; (vi) Care office; (vii) Medication room; (viii) Resident laundry; (ix) Tub room; (x) Clean room; (xi) Dirty room; (xii) Common sitting room; (xiii) Staff room; (xiv) Administration offices, reception and files; Mechanical and electrical room on second level. Renovation of existing lodge as follows: (i) Convert existing boardroom into new access corridor to new addition; (ii) Convert existing offices into new boardroom; (iii) Convert existing access vestibule into office. Site works as follows: (i) Fenced memory care enclosure; (ii) Final grading and landscaping; (iii) Major site works by others. The design and construction is to follow; (i) Design Guidelines for Continuing Care Facilities in Alberta; (ii) Small Care Home Design Requirements. *Award amount was unreleased for publication; value of the project is an estimate only.
