Clarification deadline 8/17/2022 5:00 PM The Work under this Section includes providing all labor, materials, tools, permits and equipment necessary to disassemble, remove, transport and dispose of approximately 8.0 miles of existing track and track material, within the limits shown on the plans. The track is located in Heidelberg, Jackson and West Manchester Townships, York County PA. The rail corridor right-of-way is owned by the York County Rail Trail Authority (YCRTA) and was formerly owned by Genesee and Wyoming/York Rail. The track consists of existing jointed rail, switches, switch stands, tie plates, track fastening materials, and other track materials. The existing rail weight and condition varies within the corridor. Bidders are responsible for inspecting the existing track materials to assess the potential salvage and/or scrap value of the materials. York County Rail Trail Authority (YCRTA) that it is seeking sealed bids for the salvage of railroad rail and other track material (OTM) within the corridor previously owner by the Genesee and Wyoming Railroad, and recently acquired by the YCRTA. Note: The York County Rail Trail Authority have authorized C.S. Davidson, Inc. to act on their behalf by opening bids. Bid award is expected to be made at a regularly scheduled public meeting of the YCRTA Board, following the opening. Each bidder must be prepared to submit evidence of his qualifications to perform the work. A bid bond by acceptable surety or a certified check made payable to the YCRTA in the amount of 10% of the bid will be supplied with the written bid. The Contract Time for this project is one hundred twenty (120) calendar days. The York County Rail Trail Authority reserves the right to accept any bid or reject any or all bids.
