Task Order Consultant Services for Highway Design Prequalification Category: Highway Design The Department is seeking to engage two (2) different firms to perform the Construction Engineering and Inspection services for the following projects: Project No. 0082-0316 - Reconfiguration of the Route 17 On-Ramp to Route 9 Northbound in the City of Middletown. This project proposes to widen the existing Route 9 bridge to accommodate a typical on-ramp and eliminate the stop-controlled condition This contract is scheduled to be advertised on September 21, 2022, with a scope code 'L'. Project No. 0165-0509 - Rehabilitation of Bridge #00454 (Dexter Coffin Bridge) I-91 over CT River, Amtrak, and Route 159 in Windsor Locks and East Windsor. The project will consist of strengthening steel girders, repair deteriorated members, replacement of expansion bearings, cleaning and painting fixed bearings, clean and paint beam ends, spot cleaning and painting, patching of the concrete bridge deck, replacement of waterproofing membrane, substructure patching, parapet repairs, bridge rail restoration, and sign structure replacement. This contract is scheduled to be advertised on August 24, 2022, with a scope code of 'K.' Firms responding to this request should be of adequate size and sufficiently staffed and experienced to perform this assignment and will be required to provide the necessary staffing upon execution of the contract. The selected firm will also be required to establish and/or maintain a Connecticut office for the duration of assignment. The Project Manager may be required to work in the Connecticut office and be available on a daily basis for supervision of the staff performing the assignments. The Department, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to cancel this solicitation and terminate the process to retain consultant services, and is under no obligation to contract for the services specified herein. The Department, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to award subsequent phases of an assignment to other qualified firms.
