Renovation of a mixed-use development in Madison, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.

Project No: 2104-28, 21042, 2022-01 Bidders, and their suppliers and subcontractors, are required to comply with the provisions of the Code of Virginia, Section 2.2-4311, in regard to non-discrimination in employment and Chapter 11, Title 54.1, to show evidence of a valid, current Class A Contractor's License, before bid may be received and considered. All questions pertaining to the Contract Documents, technical sections, legal documents, and bid submission shall be directed in writing to: Patricia Jessee, pjessee@gparch.com and Stephen Mundt, smundt@gparch.com. The Owner intends to enter into a single stipulated sum contract. Bid security in the form of an approved Bid Bond or a certified check for five percent (5%) of the Base Bid amount and all alternate bid amounts, payable to Madison County School Board, will be required. If a contract is let, a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount shall be required of the successful Contractor. As soon as bid prices have been compared, the Owner will return bonds of all except the three lowest responsive Bidders. When the Agreement is executed, the bonds of the two remaining bidders will be returned. The Bid Bond of the successful bidder will be retained until the Performance and Payments Bonds have been executed and approved, after which it will be returned. Bidders shall submit a Base Bid and a bid for each of the Alternates listed: o Contractors shall indicate a dollar value to be added to or deducted from the base bid, for each alternate bid item indicated. o The failure to identify a value or otherwise fill in the blank space next to the alternate will be interpreted as "no change in the contract base bid price". o If the contractor is unable to provide a bid for an alternate item, the contractor shall write the words "no bid" in the blank space next to the alternate bid item. The Contract shall be awarded to the Bidder who submits the low aggregate sum for the Base Bid and including as many alternates as the Owner chooses to accept. Failure to include bids for all identified alternate bids may render the bid non-responsive. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the forms provided in the Project Manual, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract, and each with satisfactory corporate surety, must be furnished by the successful Bidder prior to execution of the Contract. Bids may not be modified, withdrawn or cancelled by the Bidder for sixty calendar (60) days following the actual date of opening thereof, except as provided in the Code of Virginia, Virginia Public Procurement Act, Chapter 7, Section 11-54A(i). The Notice to Proceed can be issued anytime within the 60-day bid hold period without a cause for delay. Madison County Public Schools reserves the right to cancel or reject any and all bids, and to waive any informalities in bids. If the bid from the lowest responsive bidder exceeds available funds, the Owner reserves the right to cancel or negotiate with the lowest bidder per Section 2.2- 4318 of the Code of Virginia.
